This first album is dedicated to the repertoire of the tango, in particular to the sung tango, of which the greatest reference is Carlos Gardel.

The title of the album takes a verse from the song "A media luz":
"una vitrola que llora viejos tangos de mi flor", resulting in "a gramophone that cried the old tangos of my youth".

The themes depict scenes from the urban life of Buenos Aires but also of Montevideo, on the other bank of the Río de la Plata.
